A Dream Window achievement!!!

Yes, I’m still working on Dream Windows, my specialized art project in which I take salvaged window frames and repurpose them into dedicated artworks that chronicle my life experiences.

Last year, I finished my fifth Dream Window, entitled The Thirst Quencher.  If you want to see how that one was constructed, I chronicled everything in this blog post.

Dream Window 5 - The Thirst Quencher
Dream Window 5 - The Thirst Quencher. Picture taken with Rolleiflex Automat MX camera, Fuji 64T film cross-processed as C41. Stained glass. Coca-Cola bottle opener. Photo and collage by Chuck Miller.

So here’s the deal.  The Albany Center Gallery is working with the Northeast Home Show to provide purchasable artwork as part of the Show itself.  Last week I submitted this picture, along with two other past artworks – The Agfa Bridge over Ansco Lake and Star Trails of Thacher Park – for consideration.

Unfortunately, neither my splitfilm picture of the Washington Park bridge (The Agfa Bridge over Ansco Lake) nor my ethereal photo of the stars off the Helderberg Escarpment (Star Trails of Thacher Park) received any love from the judges.

However… surprise, surprise… they want Dream Window for their show!!  It’s the first time any of my artworks have been accepted by the Albany Center Gallery for ANY of their presentations or shows!

WHEE!!!

(fist pumping)

(dancing around the room)

HIT IT, DRAGON!!!

So in a couple of weeks, I’m going to drop the artwork off at the Albany Center Gallery drop-off location, and then Dream Window : The Thirst Quencher will appear on display at the Northeast Home Show at the Times Union Center.

So if you want your chance to purchase this artwork for your own home … here’s your chance to do so.

And believe me when I say this.  Chuck is happy.

And I like being happy.  It’s a nice feeling, ain’tit?
